Description

The interior design was undertaken by W G Sutherland and Son who in the 1891 census was living in Ashton upon Mersey and is described as a journalist and decorator. The photograph was taken for the owner H Kilvert, lard refiner. Harry Vernon Kilvert was a son of Nicholas Kilvert, founder of N Kilvert and Sons, producers of Kilvert's Lard, a well known British brand of cooking fat.
