The photograph was taken for HRH Duke and Duchess of Teck and the Gentleman's Magazine and Lady's Pictorial. The house was given to the Duke and Duchess of Teck to live in by Queen Victoria. Their daughter Victoria Mary was later to become Queen Mary, the wife of George V.
