This corner block of bank chambers was built by eminent Victorian architect Alfred Waterhouse in 1892-1894, using earlier designs by James Robinson, who may have designed the adjacent building 210-211 Piccadilly. The Bedford Lemere daybook only records J Robinson as the architect, and Brass & Co Builders as the client the photograph was taken for.
