Description

Broadwood & Sons made this grand piano; the company was established in 1728 and has been the Pianoforte Manufacturer by Royal Appointment since the reign of George II. It is possible to date this piano by the fall-board; from 1830 Broadwood & Sons made fall-boards that folded in two when raised. The Bedford Lemere daybook records that this photograph was taken for J Riley, Esq.
