Description

Motcombe House was designed by Sir Ernest George and Peto, (assisted by Ethel Mary Charles, who is to become the first qualified woman architect in England) for Lord Stalbridge in 1894 and completed in 1895. It is now home to Port Regis School. The Bedford Lemere daybooks record Lord Stalbridge as the client and Ernest George and Peto as architects.
