The Bedford Lemere daybook records that the interior decorations pictured were designed by H & J Cooper, and that the photograph was commissioned by a Mrs Sassoon, who was likely to have been the occupier of the house at the time the photograph was taken. This house has been demolished, and so the National Grid Reference here given is approximate.
