The memorial was erected in 1896 by members of the Guinness family and Reverend Beauchamp Kerr-Pearse for whom the photograph was taken. The Bedford Lemere daybook records the architect of the church as Ewan Christian and the stained glass manufacturers as Heaton, Butler and Bayne.
