Description

The London Temperance Hospital was established at 112 Gower Street in 1873 on the basis that the use of alcohol to treat patients was discouraged. The foundation stone for a new hospital was laid on land acquired next to St. James' Church on Hampstead Road in 1879. The photograph was taken for the Teale Fireplace Company.
