Description

Queen Victoria stayed in the Excelsior Hôtel Regina, which had been built with her needs in mind, in 1898 and 1899. She travelled to Nice with a staff of 100 and took over the whole west wing. The Bedford Lemere daybook records that the photograph was taken for S J Waring and Sons.
