Description

The Vestry Hall was built in 1864-5 to the designs of Henry Jarvis and extended c.1900. From 1900-65 it served as the town hall for the metropolitan borough of Southwark; since 1965 it has housed municipal offices and a register office. The Bedford Lemere daybook records R Tilling as the client.
