Description

The Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) was founded in 1754 and the building shown here was designed by Robert Adam in the 1770s. The street on which it stands was originally known as John Street, later becoming John Adam Street. The Bedford Lemere daybook records 'Trade and Industry' as the clients.
