Description

Chesham House was acquired by Liberty's in 1885 to house the carpets and furniture department. The site was rebuilt in the early 1920s, still under the name of Chesham House. The Bedford Lemere daybook records Liberty and Company Limited as clients for this photograph. It is one of a pair of images commissioned by Liberty's, the other showing East India House (Regent Street) from where the company also traded at this time.
