Description

In 1893 Claridge's was bought by Richard D'Oyly Carte, owner of the Savoy. He commissioned CW Stephens to rebuild the hotel, which opened in November 1898. This photograph was taken in June of that year and shows the exterior of the new hotel in its completed state.
