Description

A pendentive is the triangular architectural surface beneath a dome that marks the transition from the rounded dome (or its drum) to the square of its supports. The Bedford Lemere daybook records J R Clayton as the artist, assumed to be John Richard Clayton (1827-1913), one half of Clayton and Bell, famous stained glass artists.
