146 Piccadilly was home to the Bavarian banker Sigismund Neumann, who made his fortune mining diamonds and gold in South Africa. The house was demolished in the early 1960s as part of a scheme to widen and divert Park Lane. The same scheme led to the isolating of Aspley House which had formerly stood on the west end of the terrace containing number 146.
