Description

The archway, formerly part of Blackfriars Priory, was discovered during the demolition of 7 Ireland Yard in May 1900. The photograph which was taken for Philip Norman FSA, artist, author and antiquary, may have been used by him to produce a drawing that appears in his book, London Vanished and Vanishing, 1905.
