Description

The Deansgate Arcade was designed by John Brooke and contained the offices for the North of England Society for Women's Suffrage (NESWS). Established as the Manchester National Society for Women's Suffrage (MNSWS) in 1865, the Society changed its name to the NESWS in 1897. The Bedford Lemere daybook records Burmantofts as the client for this photograph.
