Jean-Henri Riesener (1734-1806) was the French royal ebeniste (cabinet maker), who famed for his Louis XVI style. Ormolu refers to a form of gilt bronze decoration. The Bedford Lemere daybook records S & P Erard as manufactures of this piano.
