Description

The church, built in 1895, was designed by architect J L Pearson and is the final resting place of Thomas Henry Ismay, chairman of the White Star Line, who died in 1899. This photograph was commissioned by his widow. The Bedford Lemere daybook records R N Shaw under the heading of architect, probably referring to minor works on the church carried out by Shaw in the early 1900s.
