The terrace of town houses at 17 to 21 Portland Place was designed by John Adam, along with his brothers and John Elwes, and was built between 1776 and circa 1780. The decorative wall relief pictured was designed by Wedgwood and Sons. This photograph was taken for a Mrs Brodhurst, who may have been the occupier at the time.
