Description

Thornton Manor was famously the home of William Hesketh Lever, later the first Viscount Leverhulme MP, and his family, from 1888 onwards, and Lever commissioned this photograph. The Manor was begun in the 1840s to 1850s, with substantial alterations during the 1890s and early 20th century, including the alterations to the Music Room by J J Talbot in 1902.
