Description

Henry Sotheran's is the oldest trading antiquarian bookshop in Britain and quite probably the world. It was founded in York in 1761 and established premises in London in 1815. Trade directories for the 1890s record the company trading 36 Piccadilly, but by 1908 the directory has them trading out of number 37 Piccadilly. The shop is now based in Sackville Street.
