Description

St George's Receiving Home for children was used from 1914 as a tuberculosis sanatorium for women, becoming part of the NHS upon its foundation in 1948. From 1956 until the 1980s it was used as a London County Council hostel, before being demolished to make way for housing in the 1980s. The Bedford Lemere daybook records that E T Hall was the architect of St George's Home.
