Description

The former GPO North (1890-95) was built to the designs of Sir Henry Tanner as the General Post Office headquarters. It was from the roof of this building that Marconi made the first public transmission of radio signals on the 27th July 1896. It is now known as Nomura House. The Bedford Lemere daybook records HM Office of Works as the client for this photograph.
