Description

The municipal buildings of the East Ham Urban District Council were the result of an open competition initiated in 1898. Over the following 10 years a town hall, technical school, library, tram shed and electricity works were constructed. They now form one of London's most impressive municipal complexes. The Bedford Lemere daybook records the interior designers Goodall, Lamb and Heighway as the clients for this photograph.
