The photograph was taken for London & Provincial Bank which later became part of Barclays Bank. The exact location is not known but it could be near the current Barclays Bank at 210 High Street. The photograph shows a lamp post with 'Fire Station' painted on the lantern which was located around the corner on Montague Road and tram lines which used to run along the High Street are just visible in the bottom left hand corner.
