The Bedford Lemere daybook refers to the piano as a 'Burne-Jones' piano, which refers to the Pre-Raphaelite painter Edward Burne-Jones. The paintings are certainly in his style, but as he died in 1898, it is uncertain that he painted the decoration. The entry also refers to a 'Mrs Horner', perhaps the owner of the piano. The photograph was commissioned by a Mr or Mrs Dale.
