The Bedford Lemere daybook records that the photograph was taken for The Whitcomb Syndicate with '(Motor Club)' in the subject column, indicating this was a meeting place for the club who later moved to Coventry Street, Westminster. West Kensington Gardens no longer stands, being on the site occupied by Olympia.
