The Bedford Lemere daybook states that this building was built by R Frank Atkinson, FRIBA, architect of the first Town Hall building on nearby Tweedy Street. There is a later Town Hall extension on the adjacent Widmore Street, completed in 1939 by C Cowles Voysey. The Bedford Lemere daybook records that the photograph was commissioned by R Frank Atkinson, the architect of the building.
