Description

The building was erected in 1906-8 to a design by Arthur T Bolton, and is an early example of a steel-framed building. Many of the major shipping companies had their headquarter offices in Cockspur Street and its immediate surrounding area. Alternative spellings of the company name include Hamburg-Amerika Line and Hamburg-America Line.
