Description

The Junior Carlton Club was a late 19th century gentlemen's club, formed in response to long waiting lists for the Carlton Club, an established gentlemen's club. The club's building at 30 Pall Mall was constructed in 1866-1869, with later enlargements and additions. The waste ground in the foreground of the photograph would shortly be occupied by the Royal Automobile Club.
