Description

This architectural design drawing appears to show a St James's Street facade that was never constructed. The right-hand corner and bay exist as 49 St James's Street, and are the return of the 3-bay facade of 161 Piccadilly, built in 1907 for the Royal Insurance Company. This photographic copy was commissioned by J N Lyons. The left six bays in the drawing would have occupied the site of the Devonshire Club at 50 St James's Street, a building constructed in 1827 and still extant.
