Description

The Bedford Lemere daybook records that the photograph was taken for the Niles-Bement-Pond Company. However, at the time of the photograph several other businesses and organisations including the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies (NUWSS) also occupied offices in this building. A date stone on the second floor shows it was built in 1897.
