Description

Aldwych was created in an early 20th century redevelopment of this area, and officially opened in 1905. Wych Street and Newcastle Street were demolished to make way for Aldwych as was the old Gaiety Theatre. The site is now home to Crown House and Ingersoll House. Gordon and Gunton are recorded as the architects in the Bedford Lemere daybook.
