Number 20 Hanover Square was constructed as a substantial town house in the early 18th century. In 1910 additions were made, including offices, sales room and auction room, to accommodate the auctioneers and valuers Knight Frank and Rutley. The Bedford Lemere daybook records W J Fryer and Company, contractors and builders, as the clients for this photograph.
