Description

The Bedford Lemere daybook records that this is 'Northcliffe's Room, Fleet Street'. It has been assumed that the reference is to Lord Northcliffe and that the room may be in Carmelite House, near Fleet Street, although not his study known as Room One. The photograph was taken for 'Ropley', possibly interior decorators in Duke Street, W1.
