Description

Charles Cammell and Company's Grimesthorpe Works were built in 1865 and extended to 21 acres. The firm merged with Laird, Son & Company in 1903 to form Cammell Laird and Company who commissioned this photograph.

Archival History

A note in the Bedford Lemere daybook records that all 23 negatives from the Cammell Laird Sheffield series were sent to the Sheffield offices January 11th 1916.
