The Roman Catholic Cathedral of Westminster was built between 1895-1903 to the designs of architect John Francis Bentley. The monstrance dates from 1907 and was designed by silversmiths Omar Ramsden and Alwyn Carr. In the Bedford Lemere daybook 'Private' has been recorded next to the 'Subject of Negative' column.
