Description

The Roman Catholic Cathedral of Westminster was built between 1895-1903 to the designs of architect John Francis Bentley. Situated at the side of the altar, the Archbishop's throne is a facsimile of one in the basilica of St John Lateran in Rome. In the Bedford Lemere daybook 'Private' has been recorded next to the 'Subject of Negative' column.
