Description

The Balham Hippodrome, a theatre built in the Beaux-Arts style, was situated on Balham Hill at the junction with Yukon Road. When it opened in 1899 it was known as Royal Duchess Theatre. The photograph was taken for W G R Sprague, theatre architect.
