Description

The Bedford Lemere daybook refers to this as the Lyons Building. The future Regent Palace Hotel would be operated by Strand Hotels, a subsidiary of J Lyons and Company. The photograph was taken for Leeds Fireclay Company, specialists in architectural ceramics and whose 'Burmantofts Marmo' was used to clad the building.
