The photograph was taken for Howard & Sons, cabinet makers. Earlier photographs taken by Bedford Lemere & Co show there was a London & County Bank (predecessor to London County & Westminster Bank) on this site in 1895. Presumably, this photograph was taken to show more recent work carried out by Howard and Sons.
