Description

The 'British and Foreign Blind Association' was formed in 1868 by Thomas Rhodes Armitage. The organization moved into these offices in Great Portland Street in 1914, in the same year it changed its name to the 'National Institute for the Blind'. From 2008 it was known as the 'Royal National Insitute of Blind People'.

The architect Claude W Ferrier commissioned this photograph.
