Description

The Battle of Vimy Ridge was part of the First World War Battle of Arras, fought during April 1917 in northern France. The ridge was eventually captured by allied troops led by the Canadian Corp who defeated the German Sixth Army. This photograph was commissioned by the Canadian Pacific Railway.
