Description

Cartier is a French fine jewellery and watch manufacturer founded in Paris in 1847 by Louis-Francois Cartier, with this branch in New Bond Street in existence since circa 1907.

The building itself was built as commercial premises on the site of the former Clarendon Hotel, and was constructed between 1874 and 1883. It was refronted in 1883-1884 in the Italianate-Renaissance style by John Mackland and Theophilus Allen.
