Description

The Guild of Stationers was formed in 1403 and initially encompassed a group of book, manuscript and writing materials merchants, limners who decorated and illustrated manuscripts. in the early 16th century the group expanded to include the printing industry. The present Stationer's Hall was erected in 1673, with alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries. The Court Room was partially destroyed by enemy bombings in 1940 and restored in 1957. This photograph was take for Bedford Lemere and Company itself.
