Description

There has been a Carpenters Hall on this site or nearby since 1429. The Hall shown in this photograph is the second hall to have occupied the site and was built in 1876-1880. It was weakened by fire in 1849 and finally destroyed by fire after an air-raid in May 1941. A third hall now stands within the footprint of this, the second hall. The photograph was taken for Bedford Lemere and Company.
