Description

There is a very faint handwritten note in pencil under the entry for this frame in the Bedford Lemere daybook, which seems to read 'Cornhill', the name of a major street in the financial district of the City of London. Research has shown that there was a Bankers Clearing House at 10 Lombard Street, just off Cornhill, from 1895. It has now been demolished. It is therefore very likely that this is the building pictured in this photograph.
