Description

The photograph is one of a set showing City Livery Halls, taken by Bedford Lemere & Co. The hall was built in 1671 after the original building was destroyed in the Great Fire of London. Restored in 1885-86, it suffered slight damage during the First World War and was badly damaged in the Second World War before being partly rebuilt in the early 1950s.
