Description

A note in the Bedford Lemere daybook reads 'military', so it is possible that W Abbott and Sons manufactured military boots during the First World War. The daybook also notes that the photograph was commissioned by a firm called Brown, Gardner and Co, but it is unclear what their connection with W Abbott and Sons was.
